Our team recently completed a Stage I / Tier I Geo-Environmental Desk Study at the remarkable and wonderfully historic Temple Dinsley Estate in Hertfordshire.
First recorded in the Domesday Book in 1086, this former Preceptory — a unique blend of monastery and manor — was once home to the Knights Templar and became the most significant Preceptory in South East England, regularly hosting the Knights’ national Chapters (their equivalent of AGMs). More recently it was home to Princess Helena Boarding School.
The current owners are pursuing a sensitive and sustainable redevelopment of the estate. They want to ensure they engage the best conservation principles possible; committed to preserving its outstanding heritage while ensuring its future viability.
Given the sheer scale of the site, we produced six individual reports, whilst working alongside the architects SCABAL.
It has been a pleasure to work at a site with such a rich history and form part of the team who are helping to preserve this history for generations to come.
