Our surveying and investigation commissions usually fall into two separate categories; properties suffering from structural defects and properties which will be subject to a change of use, for example higher loading.
For properties suffering from structural distress, each office has a designated team of technicians and engineers who, through site works, can confirm the various causes. These works include: excavation of trial pits around the building to expose the foundations; insitu soils testing and assessment; detailed distortion surveys; and crack logging with precise monitoring. We can also organise soil samples for laboratory testing and CCTV drainage surveys.
For properties where a change of use is required or where a major extension is being proposed our commission would also include assessment of structural components of the existing building and analysis of its loadbearing capability.
