Poringland Library, Norfolk

The project consisted of a single-storey new library in the centre of Poringland constructed in masonry around a steel shell. Due to severe site and time restrictions a steel frame was utilised. The Library was constructed on a ‘partnering’ agreement. Single ply clad roof with large glazed atrium-style roof.

Our commision involved the design of structural elements and the design of foul/surface water drainage including SUDS for the surface water design.

This project won the 2009 LABC East Anglia Building Excellence Awards in the Category of ‘Best Commercial Building, less than £1m’. The achievement recognises that the quality of work that went into this project was on of the best seen in the region.
