Devonshire House, Cavendish, Suffolk (Care Home)
This project involved the complete refurbishment, renovation and new build of the original Sue Ryder Home, which had been unoccupied for many years.
The main house (Sue Ryder’s living accommodation) is a Grade II listed property, which required a significant sympathetic conservation makeover, this area now being mainly used for offices and rest rooms.
The site required a very carefully managed fire strategy to ensure that there was no possibility of a fire which could destroy this historic centre. There had been asbestos contamination of site which had to be removed from the existing buildings constructed in c1970.
Glazed links were created to bring all the structures on site together as one building.
JPC CDM Services were appointed as CDM Co-ordinator.
