Care Home in Hadleigh
Canterbury House is a purpose built elderly-care centre with outstanding facilities situated on Gallows Hill overlooking the small market town of Hadleigh.
We were commissioned to undertake the design of foundations and superstructure. JPC CDM Services acted as the CDM Co-ordinator for the project.
We undertook the design of the foundations, steel frame and retaining walls. The sloping site required the design of several significant retaining structures to accommodate the varying levels. Foundations for the structure were traditional trench fill. The superstructure design required large span steel frames to provide the large open areas required within the building.
Overhead electrical cables were buried prior to work taking place to facilitate a safe working area.
